South Lake Tahoe, California

Timeshares are plentiful on the south side of Lake Tahoe. Lake Tahoe is a large alpine lake in the Sierra Nevada mountains with shoreline in California and Nevada. Lake Tahoe is one of the deepest lakes in the world and is known for its water clarity and its magical blue color. With boating, hiking, beach going in the summer and skiing and other snow sports in the winter, Lake Tahoe is a perfect vacation paradise ideal for a timeshare trade.

South Lake Tahoe is the city located right on the border of California and Nevada. At the stateline, are four major casinos which offer gambling, hotel accommodations, top restaurants, and live entertainment.

The many timeshares in Lake Tahoe make it a very doable trading location. Summer is more popular than winter, so reservations should be booked a year in advance for your timeshare trade. Heavenly Valley ski resort is located in South Lake Tahoe and is part of the Vail family. Vail epic passes include Heavenly Valley, therefore, there is a draw from around the world in the winter for the ski slopes. The view from the Gondola on the way to the top of the mountain is spectacular. Summer months also offer Gondola rides and activities on the top of the mountain including a mountain coaster.

When searching for your timeshare trade, there are a variety of options of quality of resorts, however, all of the choices provide the same beautiful setting in Lake Tahoe.
Diamond Resorts and Marriott both have properties in South Lake Tahoe as well as a number of independently run resorts traded through RCI or Interval International.

South Lake Tahoe is about an hour drive from the Reno/Tahoe airport located in Reno, Nevada.(Sacramento airport is about a three hour drive.) Renting a car during the summer months at the airport is recommended as there are many areas to explore around the lake. A drive around Lake Tahoe will take about an hour, but giving yourself the day to explore and stop at the various sites of interest is worth it.

Some notable stops are Emerald Bay viewing lookout, as well as a stop at Emerald Bay State Park. Vikingshoilm is an historical landmark located in Emerald Bay. The Scandinavian architecture home is considered one of the finest outside of Scandinavia and is open daily for tours in the summer months from June to September.

Sand Harbor on the north side of the lake gives kayakers and stand up paddle board enthusiasts an amazing view of the clear Tahoe water. There is a public beach there,(go early for a parking space) and rentals for paddle boards and kayaks.

All around Lake Tahoe there are hiking and mountain biking trails, as well as paved bike paths. Bike rental companies are readily available. South Lake Tahoe is a good base to enjoy the area.

When visiting any new area, always make one of your first stops the Visitors Center, and South Lake Tahoe is no different. The information available in these centers is invaluable when starting a vacation. There are many activities to choose from around the lake.

Happy Hour at Heavenly Village South Lake Tahoe

Heavenly Village is a year-round bustling hub for people watching, shop browsing, and taking time to breathe in the mountain air. The Village offers a variety of tasty and value priced happy hours. Find an open chair around a fire pit and settle in to listen to a local musician.

California Burger Co. and Azul Latin Kitchen- restaurants sit side by side on Lake Tahoe Boulevard (the main downtown street through Tahoe). They share a musician, each have fire pits with their own happy hour menus served everyday 2-6.

Fire +Ice and Gunbarrel Tavern &. Eatery across from each other directly under the gondola. Gunbarrel happy hour Monday-Friday 3-6 and Fire +Ice (except during peak season so always ask if it’s happy hour) 11-6 everyday.

The Loft, Base Camp Pizza and Kalani’s are all within the center of the Village. Base Camp Pizza features daily live music and happy hour 2-6 with a drink of the day special. Kalani’s Hawaiian food provides a quieter experience daily 3-6. The Loft has a patio bar and grill with happy hour specials 2-5 everyday.

Happy hour visitors are fun, social, active people. It’s a time in between other activities of the day to regroup and connect. Strike up a conversation with your neighbor. “Where are you from?” is usually all you need to engage. Go once, and I guarantee you’ll be back. Tahoe life reminds you to be in the moment, and your worries melt away.
